The easiest way to get around Dubai is either
by private vehicle or taxi. Dubai’s road network is excellent and road signs are in both Arabic and English. Driving is on the right hand side of the road.
Air Travel
Dubai is at the crossroads of Europe, Asia and Africa making it a favorite stop for the world’s major airlines. Dubai International Airport has two terminals that are located on different sides of the airport. Terminal 1 serves most major airlines, but both terminals offer comprehensive services. There is no airport departure tax. Dubai Duty Free shops can be found in both the arrival and departure halls.

Driving
Dubai has an impressive road network that connects all parts of the city and the surrounding areas. To make driving safer, the law requires you to use a hands-free device when using a mobile phone and to fasten your seat belt when traveling in the front seats of a car. Speed limits around town are 60–80 km, while highways to other parts of the UAE are 100–120 km.
Parking charges range from AED 1–2 per hour in clearly marked paid zones during peak hours of 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Fridays and public holidays are free. Road tolls machines are newly installed in the city, charges AED 4 every time you pass Al Garhoud bridge, Al Maktoom Bridge, Al Safa or al barsha intersection in sheikh zayed road, more toll machines are expected to be installed in the near future.
If you are involved in a car accident, even a minor one, you must remain at the scene of the accident with your car and report the incident to the Traffic Police by dialing 999.

Car Hire
Dubai is home to the major international car rental companies plus many others. You will need to provide your original passport and a valid international driving license or accepted license from your home country to rent a car. Comprehensive insurance is a good idea.
Public Bus
Dubai Municipality runs numerous bus routes that serve the main residential and commercial areas of the emirate. Some bus routes also cover destinations outside of the city. Buses run at regular intervals from 06:00 am to 10:00 pm. Fares range between 1-5 dirhams per journey and are paid to the driver when you board. Prepaid cards are also available and offer 15% discount on the fares.
Taxi
Metered taxis are the way to go in Dubai. Normal pickup is AED 3 and AED 3.50 between 10:00 pm to 6:00 am, followed by AED 1.25 per kilometer. Pickup from the airport taxi stand is AED 20 and a ride to the town center costs around AED 30–35.
